Pendekatan Holistik Di Dalam Pengobatan Luka Luar

Biokatan mengobati luka secara holistik

Di dalam ilmu Farmasi, dikenal dua cara pengobatan, yaitu: (1) pengobatan dengan bahan berupa ramuan/campuran obat (pendekatan holistik); dan (2) pengobatan dengan senyawa obat tunggal beserta eksipiennya (pendekatan reduksionistik).

Sejak awal sampai sekarang, umat manusia menggunakan campuran di dalam ikhtiar untuk mengobati penyakit. Sebagai contohnya: untuk mengobati suatu luka luar, warga di Indonesia lazim mengoleskan getah dari daun lidah buaya (Aloe vera) pada daerah luka tersebut. Di dalam getah tersebut, terkandung senyawa-senyawa yang berkhasiat mengobati luka luar. Senyawa-senyawa itu digunakan secara langsung, tidak dimurnikan dulu satu-persatu.

Ada hikmah di balik kearifan tradisional di atas. Senyawa-senyawa di dalam suatu campuran obat boleh jadi saling mendukung di dalam pengobatan. Ada senyawa yang berperan mengatasi gejala penyakit; ada senyawa lainnya yang berperan mengatasi penyebabnya; dan ada senyawa yang berperan menghantar keduanya agar sampai ke sasaran dengan utuh. Jadi, suatu campuran obat menghadapi suatu penyakit secara menyeluruh (holistik).

Berkenaan dengan pengobatan luka luar, terdapat beberapa tahap di dalamnya, yaitu: (1) penyumbatan pembuluh darah yang berlubang; (2) pembersihan sel-sel yang rusak pada daerah luka; (3) sterilisasi daerah luka dari bakteri; dan (4) pembentukan jaringan baru untuk menutupi daerah luka. Pada tiap tahap tersebut, diperlukan senyawa tertentu sebagai pemicu atau pelaksananya. Satu senyawa obat saja belum tentu dapat berperan pada semua tahap. Karena itu, senyawa obat tunggal boleh jadi tidak cukup untuk pengobatan luka luar secara tuntas. Pengobatan luka luar memerlukan obat berupa campuran obat.

               Kita patut bersyukur kepada Tuhan karena di alam Indonesia tersedia berbagai campuran untuk pengobatan luka luar. Selain getah dari daun lidah buaya, terdapat: teripang, madu, propolis, dan cairan ekskresi ulat (maggot) yang secara tradisional telah digunakan untuk pengobatan luka luar.

Bahan alami yang disebut terakhir di atas sekarang telah dapat diperoleh dengan mudah oleh warga Indonesia di dalam bentuk produk obat semprot bermerek Biokatan. Ini adalah produk obat luka luar yang sudah memperoleh izin edar dari Badan POM – RI dan sertifikat halal dari LPPOM – MUI. Di dalam Biokatan, terkandung senyawa-senyawa yang berperan sebagai pemicu atau pelaksana pada empat tahap pengobatan luka luar. Biokatan merupakan contoh pendekatan holistik di dalam pengobatan luka luar. ■
